Eezma the Cat

I don't know how many of you will remember this but last spring while taking out the trash Josh found two baby kittens who had gotten stuck in the garbage can enclosure and were soaking wet. They were shivering, and hadn't even opened their eye's yet. Their mother had obviously place them there and couldn't get them back out when it started to rain. 

Josh brought both cats in and we bathed them, cuddled them and fed them out of a dropper for the next week and a half. They finally opened their eye's and began to wonder around the house. We hadn't yet decided what to do with them when.... their mother came knocking on the window! 

At first we weren't even sure what was going on but all the sudden this big cat started clawing at our window! She would lay in the window well and cry... finally we thought to ourselves... what if she can hear her babies? So we brought her inside and set her down... we weren't even sure if she'd really take them back seems how they wouldn't smell like her anymore, and she hadn't seen them in over a week (except apparently though the window). But she did! She licked them both off (as if we'd contaminated them) and picked them up one at a time caring them out of the house. We were sad to see them go, but glad she came back for them... and that we were able to save them from the rain.


We've seen the kittens in the yard all year, and recently as it's gotten colder the one we had named Eezma has decided all of the sudden she's an indoor cat! ha ha ha She follows us in, cuddles up and watches the TV with us. She insists on being fed, and plays peak-a-boo with Evie and Inara! Evie knows that that cat is her cat... (she use to carry Eezma around by the tail saying "kitty cat")... Evie loves it when Eezma comes inside, and honestly it's nice to have a cat we don't have to take care of. :)
